Nobody was born in a place to stay

It is true that it is not easy to leave everything behind to leave the place we already know, but those four walls that have followed you years ago will not give you a range of opportunities and experiences that are out there when you go on a trip.

We have always been told that when we finish studying we have to work non-stop until retirement, all those systems that unconsciously prevent us from leaving that comfort zone.

The body and mind ask for a change of scenery, a new adventure.

No matter how far or close the journey is, if you go alone or with someone, take your backpack, pack what you need and go out to greet the world.

That journey will release all the rotten that we have in store because there is no better way to forget about a bad moment than by looking at the northern lights in Finland; because life is always moving forward and we know it when we reach the top of the Haiku Stairs in Hawaii.

Because there is no better university than traveling, being curious opens up a world of possibilities where the wildest dreams can come true, where wounds heal and your vision of life widens. If you stay you can’t find yourself, you die little by little between complaints and routines.

That car, that new cell phone, or that exaggerated amount of clothes that you may have in your closet will no longer weight because no material possession will compare to the lightness of walking unknown streets entering lives and customs totally different from yours.

You will learn to appreciate those who are far away and you will start friendships that will last a lifetime and loves that will not let you sleep.

Make sure to get lost on a trip, to know beyond the touristic, to ask for directions, have a coffee or beer with a stranger, and talk, talk, talk.

Lose all the ideas, insights, and truths that you grew up with to make room for new ones that you collect along the way. Learn that out there everything is different and not for that they’re wrong.

To all those who pass their eyes in front of the computer, in the armchair, with the way from home to work day after day, build a barrier so you cannot turn to see the past and always forward, but only seeing one meter away.

Don’t let fear invade you, because we live now and there is no better time to make a decision than today.

So, the most valuable advice I can give you is: travel, nobody was born in a place to stay.
